With just a day to go for Jailer 2’s release, music director Anirudh Ravichander has raised the excitement even higher. Anirudh shared an emotional note for Superstar Rajinikanth on X, and the post has quickly spread among fans, adding to the build-up before the film hits theatres tomorrow.
What Anirudh Said
Anirudh wrote:
“For generations, he has given us happiness, laughter, goosebumps and memories for a lifetime. At 76 and for the past 51 years, he still creates magic and rewrites history. Tomorrow, once again for the 172nd time, the lights will dim, the screens will ignite and hopefully with all your wishes, the world will witness the love for a man who lives in the hearts of every Indian.
One Sun. One Moon. And One 🙂
#Jailer2 from tomo”
He tagged Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and Sun Pictures in the post.
The Line Fans Are Sharing
The line getting the most attention is “One Sun. One Moon. And One.” Anirudh does not finish the sentence with a name, and he does not need to. For fans, the meaning is clear: there is only one Superstar. The line is already being shared widely by Rajinikanth fans as the countdown to release enters its final hours.
Timed for the Final Push
The post comes at the right moment for Jailer 2. The film’s pre-release buzz was on the lower side after the songs and trailer did not meet expectations. But bookings have picked up strongly in the last two days, with worldwide pre-sales crossing ₹60 Cr for the opening day. Anirudh’s note adds to that final push, bringing the focus back to Rajinikanth and the celebration around his release.
The 172nd Film
Anirudh’s words also highlight the scale of Rajinikanth’s career. Jailer 2 is his 172nd film, coming 51 years after his debut in 1975. Very few actors anywhere in the world have stayed at the top for so long, and even fewer still open films the way Rajinikanth does.
His previous film Coolie was his 171st, and his next, Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan, is his 173rd.
Anirudh and Rajinikanth
Anirudh’s bond with Rajinikanth goes back to Petta. Since then, he has composed music for Darbar, Jailer, Vettaiyan, Coolie and now Jailer 2. Songs like Hukum and Kaavaalaa from the first Jailer became massive chartbusters and played a big part in its success.
For Jailer 2, the songs received a mixed response before release, but his background score is expected to be one of the biggest highlights in theatres.
Jailer 2 Releases Tomorrow
Jailer 2 releases worldwide tomorrow, October 15, with USA premieres tonight. A ₹100 Cr+ worldwide opening is locked. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty joining the cast.
